Birds are a nuisance in Royal Oak, Michigan

The residents of Royal Oak, Michigan are all too familiar with the tat-tat-tat of a woodpeckers drilling on their homes, the stink of pigeon poop, and the sight of swallow’s mud nests.

Last year we had some woodpecker damage done from our roof to the porch. It was repaired and the birds seemed to go away. This year we have attached support logs but the problem is much worse. We have tried owl decoys and electronic repellant device but the woodpeckers are still here and ruining the stucco on our house.                        -Jeremy C

We have had a swallow problem for years. They build nests on all our downspouts and in the eave of our home. I try to destroy the nests before they lay eggs but they are rebuilt before I know it. I know that they are protected and I have tried natural removal like plastic owls and reflective tape but no luck.  We need help.     -Cathy K

I recently had a home inspection done on a home I am purchasing and the inspector found 79 dead pigeons as well as pigeon droppings in the attic. The feces are covering around 95% of the attic. I would like to have this cleaned and disinfected as soon as possible.  I’ve read about the contaminants in pigeon poop and don’t want to risk any illness.        -Janice M

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Royal Oak and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

Animal Problems in Royal Oak, Michigan

Residents in Royal Oak, Michigan are experiencing more animal problems than just raccoons and mice, it seems.

We were starting to see several gopher mounds in our back yard about 2 months ago. We had put down stuff bought at Lowes and grub control which seemed to slowly get the gophers away but recently this week noticed 5 new mounds close to the house in the back yard again. The house was one of the first built in 2009. We have noticed the problem worsening once more construction began around house the last couple years. -Calvin F

We think we have a squirrel issue in our attic. We just purchased the home a couple months ago. We have found nuts in our attic when doing electrical work and our home inspector thinks there is some activity since the insulation was disturbed as well. We have heard a little scratching/bumping sounds during the night, but it hasn\'t been every night or constant.                -Deborah K

We are selling our home and our realtor noticed near our front porch something had pushed rocks away and made or gotten in a hole under our cement porch near the steps. He suggested cleaning it back up and putting a rock in front of it. We did this and then almost a week later we noticed an awful smell in our basement. We actually called the gas company to make sure we didn\'t have a gas leak. We got to thinking about the hole and then noticed that something had dug it back open again. So, either we have a living skunk(s) under there spraying or 1 died and another came in to find it. The smell isn\'t near as bad after spraying tons of air freshener, but it\'s definitely still there. We are under contract on our house now and the inspection is coming up. We don\'t want this to become a problem.        -Jillian H
